Start a session

Open the trainer, follow Train for guided lessons, choose Practice for a starting position, or use Puzzles for a quick exercise. You can choose a side and training partner in Practice.

Save and resume

Leave an unfinished session and choose Save and leave. Return to Train to resume. XP is earned when a session is completed.

Find your progress

Progress is saved on the device or browser where you play. Use the same browser and the same trainchess.app address. Clearing site data, using private browsing or switching devices can remove or separate that progress.

Use Knightly offline

Native builds bundle their training content and chess engine. On the web, first open the trainer with a connection so its offline files can be saved. Browser storage and offline availability depend on your browser settings.

Purchases and ads

This browser version has no store purchases or advertising. Native store subscriptions are managed through Apple or Google when configured. The mobile apps are still being prepared for distribution.
